Here’s how the 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge and the 2022 Volvo C40 Recharge Compare
June 10 2022,
Volvo now has two compact electric SUVs to offer: the 2022 XC40 Recharge and the 2022 C40 Recharge. Despite sharing many elements, including their powertrain, these two models manage to be different enough and they have their own advantages over the other.
Space: Advantage XC40 Recharge
The 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge features a very upright and boxy style that is part of a Volvo tradition that contributes to making its wagons and SUVs some of the most practical options in their segments. This is true of the XC40 Recharge since it can carry up to 1,328 liters of cargo with the rear seats folded down while the C40 Recharge reduces this amount to 1,206 liters due to a lower roofline in the rear. The XC40 Recharge can also boast more headroom for rear passengers, who will be more comfortable on long road trips.
Range: Advantage C40 Recharge
The 2022 Volvo C40 Recharge benefits from a more aerodynamic shape than the XC40 Recharge, which makes it slightly more efficient and thus gives it a longer range, by allowing it to drive up to 364 kilometers on a charge, compared to 359 kilometers for the XC40 Recharge. In both cases, this is more than enough to cover the majority of daily driving without having to stop for a charge, but even if you do have to stop, only a little over 30 minutes is needed to charge the battery from 10% to 80% in both vehicles when using a 150 kW fast-charging station.
Style: For you to decide
Style is subjective and this is why the 2022 Volvo C40 Recharge and the 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge don’t appeal to the same buyers. If you value practicality above all else and you want a small SUV that is elegant and refined, the XC40 Recharge will interest you. If you want your vehicle to make a bold statement everywhere you go, the C40 Recharge will be a better match for you due to its distinctive roofline and its available vibrant colours.
