Revolutionizing Luxury with The All-Electric Volvo EX90
July 14 2023,
In an age where sustainability becomes paramount, Volvo's all-electric EX90 SUV sets a new benchmark with its eco-conscious yet luxuriously tactile interior. The Swedish automaker's Scandinavian roots and commitment to sustainability are embodied in the selection of materials adorning the cabin.
Natural, recycled, and renewable sources provide the elements that form this vehicle's character. Volvo's progressive Nordico upholstery, made from recycled materials like PET bottles and bio-attributed polymer from Nordic forests, redefines premium interior design with an intriguing textural appeal. Lisa Reeves, Volvo Cars' head of interior design, speaks of the hard work designers invested in achieving Nordico’s intricate texture, resembling miniature landscapes.
Supplementing Nordico, an option of Nativa-certified wool blend seat finishing presents a fabric that meets stringent sustainability standards, covering areas such as animal welfare and environmental and social issues. Combined with FSC-certified wood panels and carpets from regenerated polyamide, the Volvo EX90 touts approximately 50 kilograms of recycled plastics and bio-based materials—the highest non-primary fossil-based content in Volvo's car lineup.
This model's Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic goes beyond material choices, offering customers seven unique "rooms" to customize their car's interior. Each room, showcasing a thoughtful blend of colour, upholstery, and material finish, manifests a different mood aligned with Scandinavian lifestyle's bond with nature. SunLike LEDs further enhance the vehicle’s interior ambience, spotlighting the Volvo EX90’s distinct wood deco and progressive materials with near-sunlight illumination.
These measures echo Volvo Cars' ambition for full electrification by 2030 and achieving climate-neutrality by 2040, reflecting its core principle - Freedom to Move in a personal, sustainable, and safe way.
