The Volvo Cars app gets new functionality for electric vehicle owners
May 26 2022,
If you currently own a Volvo vehicle, you know just how useful the Volvo Cars app is. This special app can be used to start the vehicle at a distance, check the status of doors and windows, and even signal for assistance. Now, Volvo is rolling out added functionality which will be integrated into the Volvo Cars app before the end of the year to make life with an electric vehicle even easier.
The Volvo Cars app will add a range of useful features for EV owners before next year that include the ability to locate charging stations, check the status of a charging station or charging session, and even pay for the charging session all through the app. No more fumbling through different apps which have different processes to start a charging station or pay for a session. You will now be able to control everything in the Volvo Cars app.
Volvo is already one of the leading automakers when it comes to electrification and the automaker is looking to make life in an EV even easier through the use of advanced technology like the Volvo Cars app. The goal will be to facilitate charging and enhance confidence and peace of mind for Volvo Recharge vehicle owners.
“Many of us are familiar with the frustration of having to navigate multiple apps and carrying multiple cards for different charging operators,” said Olivier Loedel, head of Electrification Ecosystem at Volvo Cars. “Our goal was to make life easier for our customers and remove one of the major barriers for customers to switch to an electric car. With the Volvo Cars app, we will create one digital charging platform.”
