June 13 2022,
If you are in the market for a compact electric SUV that has a distinctive style and all of the latest technologies and features, the new Volvo C40 Recharge could interest you. Here are three things to know about it.
The First Volvo to be entirely leather-free
The new Volvo C40 Recharge is the first model to embody the brand’s new philosophy which calls for a maximum of recycled and sustainable materials to be used in its electric vehicles. This means that the seats are upholstered in a new material resembling Alcantara that is made from recycled plastic bottles and wine bottle corks. This contributes to lowering the environmental impact of the C40 and Volvo in general by reducing its dependence on the cattle farming industry.
An efficient and powerful electric drivetrain
The new Volvo C40 Recharge benefits from all of the latest technologies that have made their entry into the electric vehicle industry. This means the C40 is powered by two motors that can deliver a combined output of 402 horsepower and a 75-kWh battery that can be charged at up to 150 kW in order to reach 80% charge in only 33 minutes. In order to maintain the most of its 364-kilometer range when the temperature drops, the C40 is equipped with a heat pump that can warm the cabin by using much less energy than a regular resistive heater.
The latest in infotainment technologies
The new Volvo C40 Recharge is equipped with the latest version of the Google-developed infotainment system that incorporates many of the features you use on your phone every day. For example, the system allows you to control Google Maps using your voice and it includes the Google Assistant, which can answer all of your questions or control a number of the vehicle’s features, again without forcing you to move your hands from the steering wheel or your eyes from the road.
